The Los Angeles County district attorney formally charged a 17-year-old boy Thursday, April 7th, in connection with the death of Jalonnie Carter, who was shot September 2nd, 2003, in the 1800 block of 20th Street in Santa Monica.

The suspect was booked at the Santa Monica Jail and charged with one count of first degree murder, three counts of personal use of a gun causing great bodily injury and intentional discharge of a firearm.

Police allege that because the shooting incident is gang-related, the youth was also charged with one count of gang enhancement.

His bail has been set at $2 million.
