Chris Sullivan to perform at Santa Monica Playhouse
In the spirit of St. Patrick’s Day, actor-singer Chris Sullivan will perform “A Bit of Irish,” a celebration of Ireland through songs, poems, limericks and stories, at the Santa Monica Playhouse.
The performance is scheduled at 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 17th at the playhouse, 1211 Fourth St., Santa Monica. Tickets are $17, with all proceeds benefiting the Save the Santa Monica Playhouse Campaign. Reservations are required. Information, playhouse box office at (310) 394-9779 ext. 1.
Sullivan will return to the Santa Monica Playhouse for the tenth year running with his St. Patrick’s Night-inspired celebration of “All things Irish.” Created and performed by Sullivan, the 2009 edition of the show will bring together some old familiar pieces and some new material culled from the rich tradition of Irish literature and song, a playhouse spokesperson said.
Production design is by The Attic Room and the production stage manager is George J. Vennes III.
Sullivan has performed his show at Irish fairs and theater festivals in the United Kingdom and the U.S., including a month-long run at the Edinburgh Festival.
“A Bit of Irish” has become an annual tradition at the Santa Monica Playhouse, the spokesperson said.
