Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Bonin was in Westchester on Monday to help a city transportation crew install a new left-turn signal at the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Manchester Avenue.

There have been 45 automobile collisions at the intersection since 2006 — many of them involving left turns, according to city records.

The work comes as part of a $6-million city effort to improve safety at 32 trouble-spot intersections throughout the city.
