Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade organizers have announced that actor Barry Williams of the hit TV series The Brady Bunch, and the recently crowned Brittany Wagner, Miss California International 2011, will join the 48th annual parade Saturday, Dec. 11.
Williams starred as eldest son Greg Brady on The Brady Bunch show, which ran in prime time from 1969-74 and continued for decades in reruns. He authored a popular 1992 book about the experiences, Growing Up Brady: I Was A Teenage Greg, and also appeared in Brady reunion movies and performed in musical theater around the U.S.
In 2001, Williams toured the country playing Capt. Von Trapp in a stage revival of The Sound of Music. In later years, he made a living as a dependable icon of 1970s pop culture, including hosting a “Totally ‘70s” music show on Sirius satellite radio.
Wagner will leverage her position as Miss California International 2011 to champion her cause, the Diabetes Association. She plans to spread awareness, fundraise and be a positive advocate for the Diabetes Association.
Wagner is a 21-year-old actress living in North Hollywood and a crowd crew leader for the Los Angeles Clippers. She will travel to Chicago next July as the state delegate from California to compete for the coveted title of Miss International 2011.
