More than 300 children and adults were served Thanksgiving meals a day early during the Boys & Girls Club of Venice’s 43rd annual Thanksgiving dinner.

Actor Colin Farrell, who helped purchase food and beverages for the event, joined volunteers in serving holiday meals to guests, who included club families, community members in need, and clients from partner agencies.

The team of volunteers also included several members from the club’s board of directors, including Amy Churan, Jaime Hepp, Cathy Hession, Arielle Mandell, and Michael Moskowitz. Among other volunteers were members of Sonrise Westside Church, Equinox Marina del Rey, Venice’s Young Professionals Society, Team TAG and CAA.

“We truly look forward to this event,” Boys & Girls Club of Venice Executive Director Erikk Aldridge said. “It is a great evening of fellowship and an opportunity to bring all members of the community together.”

Club officials expressed gratitude to event sponsors and food donors including the office of Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, Ralphs, Alvin Michaelson, Bank of America, US Trust, CAA and Sonrise Westside Church.
