The World Airline Historical Society 28th annual Airline International Convention will be held Thursday through Saturday, July 8th through 10th, at the Los Angeles Sheraton Gateway Hotel in Westchester.

The event features an airline collectibles show that is open to the public. Airline memorabilia items will be on display with many of the items available for sale, including airplane models, postcards, advertisements, timetables, uniforms, china service, flatware, safety cards; and marketing and promotional items from current and past airlines, organizers say.

Attendees will have the opportunity to fly on an antique DC3 airplane on special tours that include visits to the Mojave Airplane graveyard; the Chino Airport, home to many antique airplanes; the Long Beach Airport; a Boeing plant and the Alteon Simulators.

A banquet will honor David Banmiller, chief operating officer of Air Jamaica and past president of Pan American World Airways.

Three to four thousand attendees from around the world are expected to attend the convention.
