Marina del Rey resident Alison Best has been appointed director of sales for the Santa Monica Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Best will be responsible for development and maintenance of bureau sales and client services, including establishing and implementing sales programs designed to generate sales leads and group bookings from Santa Monica’s top feeder markets.
She will also organize trade show attendance and oversee the development of a convention services program.

Prior to coming to Santa Monica, Best has provided more than 14 years of hospitality and tourism work experience.
Most recently, she was senior sales manager of conventions and group sales at Tourism Whistler.
She is a native Canadian, received a diploma in tourism and host training from the Canadian Tourism College in Vancouver, British Columbia and a sociology degree from the University of Victoria.
