At 9 a.m. on Saturday, November 18th, the Santa Monica Baykeeper is having its once-a-month Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup to remove trash from a stretch of Lincoln Boulevard in Marina del Rey and keep the trash out of storm drains and the ocean.
“Every piece of trash we pick up equals one less threat to marine life,” a Baykeeper spokes-man says. “Please join us.”
Anyone 18 years of age or older who wants to help clean up the community and the bay may take part in the Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup.
Those interested should meet at the Santa Monica Baykeeper office at 3100 Washington Blvd., Marina del Rey area. The office is at the back of the building above the 26 Beach Restaurant.
Ample parking is available on Harrison Avenue, one block north of Washington Boulevard.
Participants are asked to wear good walking shoes and have adequate sun protection.
