A Santa Monica Big Blue Bus was involved in a traffic accident that left the driver and five passengers injured on Monday, January 21st.

Shortly after 9 p.m., a No. 7 Big Blue Bus traveling eastbound in the 11300 block of Pico Boulevard crashed into a wall near Sawtelle Boulevard, said an officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s West Los Angeles Station.

According to Linda Gamberg, the bus line’s marketing and public information officer, the driver, who has been with the company since 1980, has been released from a local hospital. She had no information on the status of the passengers who were injured in the crash.

Officials at the Big Blue Bus have begun their investigation into the crash, along with the West Los Angeles Traffic Division.

“We are conducting our standard internal investigation, as we do in all traffic incidents,” said Gamberg.
