A man’s dead body was found near Ballona Creek in the Marina area Sunday, August 6th, Los Angeles City Fire Department officials said.

City firefighters were called to the intersection of Lincoln Boulevard and Fiji Way in the Marina area at 1:02 p.m., where a body had reportedly been seen near Ballona Creek, a city fire department spokeswoman said.

Firefighters located the body and a fire department spokeswoman said he may have been a transient. There did not appear to be any foul play involved, she said.

At Argonaut press time, the man had not been identified, according to a county coroner spokesman.
