The Walt Disney Company has awarded a $5,000 grant to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Monica to help support the club’s education, leadership and recreation programs.

In addition, The Walt Disney Company donated 50 tickets to Disneyland for a summer field trip for club members.

“We are grateful to The Walt Disney Company for helping us to put smiles on the faces of the kids we serve,” said Aaron Young, president and CEO of the Santa Monica club. “We rely on the generosity of organizations like The Walt Disney Company for funding of programs that help us give the more than 7,000 kids we serve each year a brighter future.”

Walt Disney Company officials say that the company is dedicated to providing financial resources and various in-kind gifts to brighten the lives of children in need. Last year, Disney donated more than $198 million in cash and in-kind support to various charities around the world.

The Walt Disney Company also provides financial and administrative support for Disney VolunTEARS, a program in which employees volunteer for community service around the world, company officials said.
