The City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks will open its seasonal swimming pools at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 25th, the same day that year-round city pools will begin summer schedules.

Children 17 years old and younger; seniors 65 years and older; and disabled Los Angeles residents may swim without charge at all city pools.

Adults 18 to 64 years old are charged $1.50 per day.

Most city pools offer private and semiprivate swimming lessons as well as group swimming lessons.

There will also be swim team and inner tube water polo competitions at most city pools.

Some city pools offer synchronized swimming, traditional water polo, and springboard diving competitions as well as junior lifeguard training.

The summer schedule runs from Saturday through Labor Day, Monday, September 5th.
