The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has closed the Culver Boulevard off-ramp of the westbound Marina Freeway (State Route 90) for about a month as part of the project to extend the freeway west beyond Culver Boulevard.
Caltrans closed the Culver Boulevard on-ramp to the eastbound Marina Freeway Monday, December 18th, and the closure is scheduled to be in effect for approximately two months, transportation officials said.
All freeway detours will be posted.
The $17 million project to extend the Marina Freeway past Culver Boulevard includes the construction of a new interchange at Culver, improvement of frontage roads and modification of traffic signals, said Caltrans spokeswoman Judy Gish.
The improvements are expected to increase corridor capacity, improve traffic flow and enhance safety, Gish said.
