David Coughlin, who worked at Playa del Rey establishments for more than a decade, has died. He was 47.
Coughlin, a Brentwood resident, died Wednesday, July 2nd, at Marina del Rey Hospital.
Known by friends as “Gringo Dave,” Coughlin was born in Danbury, Connecticut.
During his time as an employee in Playa del Rey, Coughlin worked at the La Marina Restaurant and later served as a bartender at the Harbor Room. He had previously worked as a movie actor, appearing in New York Nights, Cemetery High, The Beauty Shop, and Galactic Gigolo.
He will be greatly missed by friends and customers who were entertained by his keen wit and humor, said a friend.
