Los Angeles Dodgers owner Frank McCourt will be honored at the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce’s State of the City 2010 breakfast Thursday, January 21st at The Broad State at Santa Monica College.
Bill Allen, president and chief executive officer of the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, will be the keynote speaker at the event, scheduled from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at The Broad Stage, 1310 11th St., Santa Monica.

McCourt is being honored for his many contributions to the vitality of the regional economy and, for making Santa Monica an active partner with the 2010 Los Angeles Marathon, according to the chamber of commerce.
The Dodgers owner, who purchased the team in 2004, has become an active part of the civic and philanthropic life of the Los Angeles area, including through his charity ThinkCure to fight cancer, and the Dodger Dream Foundation, according to the chamber.
Allen also serves as the CEO of all subsidiary corporations of the Economic Development Corporation, including the World Trade Center Association Los Angeles-Long Beach. He has been active in regional economic development for more than a decade and he was the first CEO of the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley from 1997 to 2000.
Allen is also a veteran television network and studio executive with more than 20 years experience in entertainment production and management.
