LOS ANGELES CITY COUNCILMAN Bil Rosendahl (left) honored Edward “Jim” Ritchie, deputy executive director for the LAX (Los Angeles International Airport) Development Program, for his nine years of “exemplary service” at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA, the city airport agency) during a recent City Council meeting. Before leaving the agency, Ritchie was responsible for long-range regional and master plan activities for the city’s four airports. His primary focus was on the modernization of LAX, overseeing the largest construction program undertaken by the agency since the 1984 Olympics.
Ritchie, a former Marine Corps colonel and naval aviator, has over 40 years of aviation facilities experience and was awarded a 2005 career service award by the City Council for the completion of the LAX Master Plan.
