in their home near LMU

A male suspect allegedly robbed a Westchester family of cash as they returned home late December 22nd, police said.

The residents were entering their home in the 7500 block of McConnell Avenue near Loyola Marymount University at about 11:30 p.m., when a suspect allegedly confronted them at gunpoint and followed them into the home, said Det. Steven Katz of the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific division.

The suspect, who was alone, demanded money, robbed the residents and fled the home on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash, Katz alleged. The victims were not injured.

Police described the suspect as a black man, approximately 30 to 40 years old, six feet tall, weighing 200 pounds, and wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.

The suspect is not believed to be connected with any other reported robberies in the area, Katz said.

“This is very uncommon for that area,” he said of the incident.

Anyone with additional information regarding this incident is asked to contact LAPD Pacific detectives at (310) 482-6392.
