The annual “Fireside at the Miles” series will be presented at the historic Miles Memorial Playhouse in Santa Monica beginning Friday, Jan. 20 and running through Feb. 25.
The series will include 13 separate events featuring contemporary music, opera, jazz, dance, puppetry, poetry, beat boxing, a capella singing and more.
All performances will take place beside the period fireplace inside the historic playhouse at 1130 Lincoln Blvd., Santa Monica. Some of the seating areas will be replaced with a more intimate set-up of couches, coffee tables and candles, as well as an organic coffee, tea, juice and pastry bar inside the open hall.
Most performances will take place from 8 to 10 p.m. and will be youth-friendly. Doors open at 7:15 p.m.
The third annual “Fireside” series will kick off Jan. 20 with a performance by the Golden State Pops Orchestra, a nine-piece classical ensemble, and continue with a spoken word event by YouTube sensation George Watsky on Saturday, Jan. 21.
The following weekend will include songs with Diana Wyenn and Brianna Martin Friday, Jan. 27 and contemporary singer/songwriters David Poe, Amy Raasch and Brendan Hines will perform intimate sets Feb. 4.
The season will also feature a kids Marionette Matinee by Franklin Haynes on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 11 a.m., Valentines themed dances with Hart Pulse Dance Company Feb. 11 and a special performance by Holly Rothschild and String Theory Feb. 17.

Admission to all shows is $10 for adults, and $5 for seniors (55 and over), students and youths aged 17 and under. All coffee, tea, beverages and food are available by suggested donation.
