Santa Monica Police responded to the 1400 block of Lincoln Boulevard in Santa Monica, at 9:30 p.m. Thursday, May 5th, regarding an armed robbery of a massage parlor.

Officers who responded were checking other massage parlors in the area when information was received that a second massage parlor robbery had just occurred in the 2400 block of Lincoln Boulevard.

When officers arrived at the second scene, police said they saw two suspects jump over a fence at 11th Street and Ocean Park Boulevard.

Police set up a perimeter and the K-9 unit located one suspect at midnight in the 1100 block of Maple Street.

The suspect was taken into custody and witnesses positively identified him in a field test.

The suspect is 21-year-old Matthew Moulton of Reseda.

He was booked in Santa Monica Jail for armed robbery and bail was set at $50,000.

The second suspect is described as a white male, 19 to 21 years old, five-feet-six, weighing 140 pounds, with brown hair and last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt.

There have been more than five robberies of massage parlors in the City of Santa Monica during the past several months, Santa Monica police report.

Police allege that the robbers entered the massage parlors, confronted parlor employees and demanded money.

During two of the robberies, robbers used a knife to threaten a victim, police allege.

During another robbery, police allege robbers simulated having a weapon.

No one was reported injured during these robberies.
