Bill “Billy” Tauber, a longtime Marina del Rey resident, died Sunday February 4th, after a long illness.
He was born in Chicago February 13th, 1940 and spent his later years in Point Loma.
He was known for his passion for boats, exotic cars and photography, and he was one of the original slip tenants at Marina City Club.
He “never met a man he didn’t like” and he captured the hearts of many with his sense of humor and ability to tell a good story, according to family members.
“He will be remembered for his wonderful intelligence, big heart, quick wit and fun loving spirit,” said friends and family in paying tribute to him. “He was truly a king among men in many ways.”
He is survived by his sisters Diane and Patricia, brothers Tim and Hank, and ten nieces and nephews.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday, March 3rd. For details, call Judi Oergel at (310) 417-8414.
