Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles helped deliver 12,000 boxes of Girl Scout cookies to the Bob Hope USO facility at Los Angeles International Airport Tuesday, May 5th.

The scouts joined military personnel to unload the 1,000 cases of cookies to store at the USO for the thousands of service men and women who travel through LAX every month.

The Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles and the Bob Hope USO teamed up for the delivery event as part of the Gift of Caring, a Girl Scout cookie donation program benefiting the Bob Hope Hollywood USO at LAX, Operation Gratitude Care Package Program, and the Los Angeles Foodbank.

The Girl Scout Gift of Caring program gives consumers the option to donate cookies they buy during the Girl Scout cookie season. Through the program, Girl Scouts of Greater Los Angeles collected community donations of 72,756 boxes of cookies that will be given to three nonprofit organizations.

The donations were delivered to the USO at LAX, Operation Gratitude at the National Guard Armory, and the Los Angeles Foodbank throughout the week.
