Christina Hanford has joined The Argonaut staff as a news reporter. Among the areas Hanford will be covering are the City of Santa Monica, the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District and the Los Angeles Unified School District.
She recently moved to the local area from a suburb of Dallas, where she resided for 16 years. She graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and she says she has always had a passion for writing.
Previously, Hanford worked as the correspondence coordinator at Magnolia Media Group, a media and publishing company in Texas. She has also been a freelance writer and copy editor for community newspapers and magazines in Texas.
Hanford says she loves sports and loves to read, write, watch movies and go on random adventures with friends.
She is a former gymnast and played soccer. She vows to remain a huge Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys fan here in California.
Hanford says she loves to write about people, “especially those who have impacted the community in various ways, and those who have overcome difficult circumstances and still managed to shine and succeed.”
Hanford can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org or (310) 822-1629, ext. 115.
