Dayna Bochco, an attorney who serves on the board of directors of the Santa Monica-based environmental group Heal the Bay, has been appointed as a new member of the California Coastal Commission.
Bochco was nominated to the four-year term by state Sen. Darrell Steinberg, who serves as Senate president pro tem. She replaces Coastal Commissioner Sara Wan, who served on the state board for 15 years.
The Coastal Commission works to protect and conserve resources of the California coast.
In addition to her service with Heal the Bay, Bochco sits on the city of Los Angeles’ Measure O Citizen Oversight Committee. She also serves as the president of the successful television production company, Steven Bochco Productions.
“Dayna Bochco will be a superb coastal commissioner because she deeply cares about protecting our coast, and she has strong legal and communication skills,” said Mark Gold, president of Heal the Bay.
