Three beach-culture icons are among those scheduled to attend Heal the Bay’s 20th annual Bring Back the Beach gala dinner Thursday, May 19 in Santa Monica.

Legendary Beach Boys co-founder Brian Wilson will play a full-length set of hits, while big-wave surfer Laird Hamilton and his wife Gabrielle Reece, a beach volleyball star and model, will also make a special appearance at the event, which is dubbed “The Ultimate Beach Party.”

Held under the stars at the Jonathan Beach Club, this year’s fundraising gala is expected to see nearly 1,000 guests, as well as leaders in the worlds of entertainment, conservation, business and politics.

The gala event will recognize three honorees including:

€ The California State Coastal Conservancy, a state agency dedicated to protecting and enhancing coastal resources, and providing access to the shore;

€ TV and live-event production company Homerun Entertainment, which has produced the Bring Back the Beach gala on a pro-bono basis for the past seven years; and

€ Don Smith, the former president of environmental engineering firm MWH Americas.

Ford Motor Co. has donated a 2011 Ford Escape hybrid vehicle to be auctioned in live bidding at the event. Other corporate sponsors include AECOM, The Los Angeles Dodgers Dream Foundation, The Jonathan Beach Club and Rustic Canyon Partners.
