The Human Relations Council-Santa Monica Bay Area (HRC) will celebrate the work of nearly 70 Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District students at 4 p.m. Friday, June 15th, at the John Adams Middle School Auditorium, 2425 16th St., Santa Monica. The celebration is free and open to the public.
The 46th Annual Literature and Arts Program celebration honors students from across the district in grades four through 12 for their work responding to this year’s theme: “A Respectful Community ñ Each Individual’s Right; Each Individual’s Responsibility.”
All student essays and artwork reflect their perspectives on the idea of the development of a community that embraces diversity, respect, inclusion, and justice.
The HRC is a partnership of community organizations, institutions, and businesses that actively promotes and supports a respectful and socially just community through education, advocacy, and resolution of local conflicts and issues.
In addition to the Annual Literature and Arts Program, the HRC sponsors community wide dialogues.
