More than 56,000 visitors skated at the ICE at Santa Monica rink this season, nearly doubling

the number of guests from the

previous year.

As the ICE rink celebrated its last day on January 19th, the Bayside District Corporation also drew the names of three winners of the HomeAid Los Angeles/ Ventura Project Playhouse custom-designed playhouses. ICE at Santa Monica is produced by the Bayside District.

“I am thrilled with the turn-out and that we were able to provide that extra special holiday cheer for our visitors as well as draw more people to the area” said Debbie Lee, director of Marketing and Communications for the Bayside District, which manages downtown. “We are so fortunate to have such amazing support from the community, and our team at Bayside is already looking forward to the next winter season.”

In addition, HomeAid Los Angeles/Ventura, a leading national nonprofit provider of housing for homeless, donated three of its playhouses to raffle off for charity, which raised money for future projects. The winners of the Project Playhouse raffle were pulled from thousands of hopefuls who each took home one of the custom-designed playhouses.

Sponsors of this season’s festivities included Starbucks Coffee Company, City of Santa Monica, Holiday Inn Santa Monica Beach at the Pier, Puma, Fred Segal Santa Monica, Santa Monica Daily Press and the Law Offices of Harding, Larmore, Mullen, Jakle, Kutcher & Kozal.
