Longtime Westchester resident Josephine Sophia Anderson, a member of the Westchester Lutheran Church and former employee of the Brotman Medical Center in Culver City, has died. She was 88.
Anderson was born November 29th, 1918 in Cooper County, Missouri as the middle child of Frederick Adam and Amalia Elizabeth Schilb. Anderson had three brothers and four sisters.
She left Missouri in 1936 and moved to California. During the 1930s and 1940s, Anderson worked in Hollywood, a time she recalled with stories about meeting many Hollywood stars, her family said.
As a resident of Westchester, Anderson belonged to the Westchester Lutheran Church, where she also taught Sunday School.
For three decades, Anderson worked the night shift in admitting at the Brotman Medical Center in Culver City. She retired in 1987.
Among her loves were wild roses, lemon trees, hummingbirds and the music of Bob Dylan.
Her husband of 65 years, Albert T. Anderson, preceded her in death.
Anderson is survived by her sister Dorothy Spillman, daughter Lori Jo Anderson, son-in-law Tim Hartrick and grandson Timothy Michael Hartrick, Jr.
