Agents from the Keller Williams Realty office in Marina del Rey say they collected more than 2,900 pounds of food and over $1,400 in cash donations through a month-long food drive in May.

During the food drive, the agents say they set up tables in front of markets, knocked on doors, and called neighbors, friends, relatives and local merchants in an attempt to make the food drive one of the most successful in the Los Angeles Foodbank history.

“The 875 charitable agency sites in the Foodbank’s network have seen a record increase due to families that are suffering due to the growing job loss, and we feel good that our efforts have made a difference,” chairperson Rikki Green said.
