After 32 years of service in the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), Officer Craig White is retiring.

White had been the longtime senior lead officer for the East Venice area.

A farewell party was held at the Penmar Park Recreation Center April 26th, which was organized by the Venice Rose/Lake Association, led by Linda Jacobson, Taimie Bryant, and Mariana Aguilar, as well as the Lincoln Place Tenants Association, represented by attorney Jan Book.

Los Angeles City Councilman Bill Rosendahl attended the farewell event with four members of his staff.

Rosendahl presented White with a city certificate of appreciation, as well as a personal certificate from his office.

A tribute from the LAPD Pacific Division was coordinated by Officer Anthony Vasquez, senior lead officer for the Palms area, and broadcast to all the patrol cars in the LAPD simultaneously.

In addition, White received cards of gratitude and appreciation for his help and commitment to the community from the people in attendance.

Gift donations were directed to the Policemanís Unity Tour, which is a bicycle trek to raise funds for fallen police officers.
