The Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Pacific Community Police Station in Del Rey hosted its annual Open House August 8th to allow the community to meet its senior lead police officers and neighborhood block captains, Police Advisory Board members, Booster Club members and Pacific Area explorers.

Visitors also had an opportunity to meet several specialized LAPD units, such as SWAT, motor officers, the LAPD dive unit and LAPD mounted unit.

The Open House included a display by Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), free vision testing for children, along with fun activities ranging from a moon bounce, face painting, crafts and carnival games.

The LAPD Pacific division teamed up with Life Stream to collect blood which will be utilized in the community. Every donor was entered into a drawing for a chance to win a 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycle and each received a free T-shirt.
