The state Board of Education suspended the “parent trigger” law, which allows parents who have children in underperforming schools to switch to a charter operator through petitions.

Seven schools in the Argonaut coverage area were on the Parent Revolution’s list that were eligible for the parent trigger, which has become increasingly controversial in recent months.

The Parent Revolution is a group of parents seeking to reform public education and one of the biggest supporters of the school law.
