The League of Women Voters of Santa Monica Education Fund is hosting the following free community events, in keeping with its mission to educate and inform the electorate, on issues and candidates in the election Tuesday, November 7th:
n On Monday, October 9th, League of Women Voters speakers will discuss the 13 state ballot measures that will appear on the ballot and answer audience questions.
This event will begin at 7 p.m. at the Montana Avenue Branch Library, 1704 Montana Ave., Santa Monica.
n On Tuesday, October 10th, the League will hold three forums, taped by CityTV for replay, at the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Central Office Board Room, 1651 16th St., Santa Monica. The three forums will cover:
— Santa Monica Rent Control Board candidates will be questioned from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.,
— Santa Monica Community College District Board of Trustees candidates from 7:15 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. and
— Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District Board of Education candidates from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
n In partnership with the Center for Governmental Studies and CityTV, the League of Women Voters of Santa Monica Education Fund is co-sponsoring a live forum for Santa Monica City Council candidates starting at 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 17th, at the City Council Chamber, Santa Monica City Hall, 1685 Main St., Santa Monica.
