Liberty Hill Foundation, based in Santa Monica, has awarded $250,000 to 11 organizations that address issues facing lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities.

“Talk about pride,” said Torie Osborn, Liberty Hill Foundation executive director, “this year, we gave away more money than ever to amazing Los Angeles (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) groups.

“Year by year, we are expanding equality.”

Liberty Hill provided grants to grassroots community organizations that provide a variety of services, ranging from street theater to rehabilitation for gay inmates.

The grants are called the “2005 Lesbian and Gay Community Fund Grants.”
