Chanukah party at beach synagogue

The Pacific Jewish Center Shul on the Beach has scheduled its Open House Chanukah Party from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, December 13th at the synagogue’s beachfront location at 505 Ocean Front Walk, Venice.

Along with dreidel games, chocolate gelt, latkes, blintzes and other traditional Chanukah foods and activities, there will be a moon bounce as well as a special program for children. Rabbi Eliyahu Fink will address adults and teens with a talk on “The Gift of Chanukah” and live music will also be featured at the event.

“We look forward to greeting our neighbors and spreading the light of Chanukah,” said Fink, Pacific Jewish Center’s religious leader.

“Chanukah is the one time where there is a special mitzvah (commandment) to publicize the greatness of the day. It is in this spirit that we invite the entire beach community to bask in the glow of Chanukah candles and share in their light.”

The event is open to the public.
