A male juvenile died after he was shot in the Pico Neighborhood of Santa Monica Tuesday, February 28th, Santa Monica police said.
The incident was the first homicide in Santa Monica this year, Santa Monica police Lt. Frank Fabrega said.
Police were called to the 2600 block of Pico Boulevard at 9:21 p.m. regarding a report of shots fired.
Officers located the victim on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound to the upper torso.
The victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
He has not been identified pending notification of his family.
Police had not located a suspect or identified a possible motive for the shooting, at Argonaut press time.
