A 36-year-old man was stabbed to death during what police describe as a dispute between two transients near the Venice Beach Boardwalk early Thursday, July 20th.

Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) Pacific Community police are looking for the suspect, who allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest at about 1:40 a.m. at 16 Dudley Ave. in Venice, LAPD Pacific Lt. Richard Mossler said.

The victim, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a county coroner spokesman.

The incident occurred when two men reportedly got into an argument and one of them allegedly stabbed the other and fled on foot, Mossler said.

Police are investigating the possible motive for the stabbing.

The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, police said.
