A suspect who allegedly shot a man during a robbery outside a Venice bar Dec. 10 remains at large, police said.

Det. Steven Katz of the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific division said a man was leaving the Brig in the 1500 block of Abbot Kinney Boulevard in Venice at about 2 a.m. and was getting into his car when he was confronted by a gunman.

The suspect demanded the man’s money, but when the victim refused, the suspect allegedly shot him in the leg, Katz said.

The suspect then fled on foot eastbound into the neighborhood, Katz said. No property was taken from the victim.

The victim reportedly drove himself to a local hospital where he was treated and released, police said.

The suspect was described as an African-American man, 25 to 30 years old, 5-foot-9, 190 pounds and wearing dark clothing, Katz said.
