The California Clean Money Campaign, the Venice Neighborhood Council and the Mar Vista Community Council have scheduled a public workshop Thursday, April 10th, to discuss whether the City of Los Angeles should introduce public financing of local elections.
The workshop is scheduled from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Walgrove Elementary School, 1630 Walgrove Ave., Mar Vista.
The Rules and Government Committee of the Los Angeles City Council is considering a voluntary system of full public financing for city election campaigns. The City Council has asked Neighborhood Councils to conduct outreach and get public feedback on the issue.
The California Clean Money Campaign plans to do a PowerPoint presentation at the workshop, followed by a discussion with audience members.
