The Marina del Rey Convention & Visitors Bureau has appointed Janet Zaldua as its new executive director.
Zaldua was most recently the director of marketing and communications for the Pasadena Center Operating Company, which manages the Pasadena Convention & Visitors Bureau, Pasadena Convention Center and Pasadena Civic Auditorium. During her tenure, she directed the marketing and communications efforts to build and enhance Pasadena’s image as a desirable meeting and visitor destination.
She will take over at the Marina bureau, which promotes the waterfront community as a destination for leisure and business travel, July 17.
“Marina del Rey is an incredible area with world-class assets that both leisure and business travelers can appreciate, including hotels and restaurants with breathtaking views of the waterfront and outdoor recreation,” Zaldua said.
“Its close proximity to LAX makes it an even more desirable and accessible destination for domestic and international visitors. I’m thrilled to join the Marina del Rey Convention & Visitors Bureau, and I look forward to being a part of the community.”
Zaldua additionally serves on the board of directors for the Travel and Tourism Marketing Association and is a member of Destination Marketing Association International, California Travel Association, as well as several other tourism-related organizations.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in communications and a master’s in public policy and administration from California State University-Bakersfield.
