Ross Wood won the sweepstakes award in the 43rd Annual Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade Saturday, December 10th.
He had recently purchased the entry boat, Gallorosso, a 44-foot sailboat.

The boat parade was sponsored by a volunteer organization called The Marina del Rey Holiday Boat Parade headed by Cindy Williams, president.
Williams said this year’s parade had 42 registered entries.
Weather for the 6 to 8 p.m. boat parade was cold and crisp, adding sparkle to the thousands of lights boatowners placed on their parade boats.
Frank Fetta, conductor of the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony, served as grand marshal.
A burst of fireworks shot off on the Marina entrance channel jetty at 5:55 p.m., announcing the beginning of the boat parade.
The list of winners in the boat parade is on the next page.
The theme of the boat parade this year was “Star Light, Star Bright” and many entries used stars, the galaxy and other outer space themes.
The boat parade organization has continued its relationship with the Illuminated Boat Parade and Contest held annually in Tokyo Bay, Japan. Two Japanese boatowners associated with the Japanese event came to the Marina to serve as boat parade judges.
Last year’s winner of the Fort Lauderdale/Winterfest in Florida also served as a judge in the Marina.
This year’s Marina boat parade winner will go to Florida next year to serve as a judge in the Florida parade.
