The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has announced closures of the eastbound and westbound Marina Freeway (State Route 90) connectors to the northbound San Diego Freeway (Interstate 405) on specific dates through Friday, December 7th.

The closures are related to the $167-million High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) project on I-405 from the Marina Freeway to the Santa Monica Freeway (Interstate 10).

The project is expected to be completed in early 2009, when the HOV lane on southbound I-405 will be continuous from the San Fernando Valley to Orange County, according to Caltrans.

Detours will be signed.

The Marina Freeway connectors to northbound I-405 will be closed on the following dates:

Marina Freeway west connector:

– Thursday, November 15th, to Friday, November 16th, daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;

– Monday, November 19th, to Wednesday, November 21st, daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;

– Monday, November 26th, to Thursday, November 29th, daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.;

– Monday, December 3rd, to Friday, December 7th, daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Marina Freeway east connector:

– Thursday, November 15th, to Friday, November 16th, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.;

– Monday, November 19th, to Wednesday, November 21st, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.;

– Monday, November 26th, to Thursday, November 29th, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.;

– Monday, December 3rd, to Friday, December 7th, daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
