Independence Day festivities will feature the Mr. and Ms. Muscle Beach Bodybuilding, Figure, and Bikini contest Monday, July 4 at the Venice Beach Recreation Center, 1800 Ocean Front Walk.

The traditional holiday event will include competitors from different nations and is open to all amateur athletes. The entry fee is $80 per participant, but admission is free for spectators.

The holiday event will also include onsite exhibits from companies in the health and fitness industry, along with educational materials, giveaways, and more.

Registration for the competition will begin at 7:30 a.m., with prejudging starting at 10 a.m. A parade of athletes and presentation of colors by a U.S. Air Force color guard is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.

Among the anticipated highlights will be the induction of eight-time Ms. Olympia, Lenda Murray into the Muscle Beach Venice Hall of Fame.

The event finals will begin at 1 p.m. and continue until about 5 p.m.
