Voters from across the Westside will go to the polls Sunday, April 11th to elect new members and officers of neighborhood councils.

Four neighborhood councils within The Argonaut coverage area — Venice, Westchester-Playa, Mar Vista and Del Rey — will hold their elections for a seat on the boards, which advise Los Angeles city government on a host of community issues.

The Los Angeles City Clerk’s Office will be conducting the elections for the first time in neighborhood council history. Elected members will serve two-year terms on their respective councils.

Election information for each of the four councils is listed below.

VENICE NEIGHBORHOOD COUNCIL ELECTION

Forty-three candidates, the most ever to run for the council, are vying for all 21 open seats on the board. The election is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 11th at the Oakwood Recreation Center, 767 California Ave., Venice.

A candidate forum will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 8th at the Westminster Elementary School auditorium, 1010 Abbot Kinney Blvd., Venice. Information on the election, including who can vote, www.venicenc.org/boardelections/.

Thirty-nine candidates are running for all 31 open seats. The election is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. April 11th at the CenterPointe Club, 6200 Playa Vista Drive, Playa Vista. A candidate forum will follow the regularly scheduled council meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6th at Westchester Municipal Building community room, 7166 Manchester Ave.
