Michael Molina has been appointed senior director of Government Affairs for Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA), the city agency that operates Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and three other regional airports.
Molina will be responsible for coordinating all of the airport department’s legislative activities and serving as liaison with local, state and federal elected officials.
In addition, he will work with the Government Affairs Division to collectively manage the airport department’s interaction with a broad spectrum of governmental agencies, airport officials said.
Prior to joining Los Angeles World Airports, Molina was chief of staff for 15th District Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who is chair of the City Council Trade, Commerce and Tourism Committee.
“Mike’s work at City Hall has helped shape numerous important City Council initiatives,” Los Angeles World Airports executive director Gina Marie Lindsey said. “His leadership over the course of the past seven years has the distinction of being acknowledged by both the business and labor communities.”
Molina is a graduate of California State University, Dominguez Hills and lives in Harbor City with his wife and son.
