State Sen. Jenny Oropeza, the author of a state resolution to recognize the nation’s loss on September 11th, 2001, is asking residents of the 28th Senate District and beyond to devote a few hours to their community by participating in local food and blood drives this month.

Each year, the senator advocates community service as a way to foster stronger bonds with families, friends and neighbors.

Donations of any size are welcome, and all blood-drive donors will receive a ticket for free admission to the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach.
