Playa del Rey resident Michael Charles Barnett died Friday, January 5th, at the age of 30.
He was the son of Charles and Dianne Barnett; brother of Barbara, John and Christine Barnett; grandson of Olympia Charney; and uncle of Matthew Brown, Spencer Brown and Andrew Barnett.
Barnett was born in Long Beach, attended St. Isidore Catholic School in Danville and De La Salle High School in Concord.
He was a graduate of Loyola Marymount University, in Westchester, where he majored in film production.
He was an independent film editor and he loved his chosen profession, according to the family.
He formed two film production companies: Squeak Street and Aisle Five Studios in Venice.
Funeral services have been held. Donations may be made in memory of Michael Barnett to the Scholarship Fund at St. Isidore Catholic School, 440 La Gonda Way, Danville, CA 94526.
