Two Marina del Rey businessmen recently organized a poker tournament benefiting Los Angeles County Fire Station No. 110 in the Marina.
Funds raised through the benefit poker event were used to purchase needed Global Positioning System (GPS) equipment for the fire station in appreciation for its service to the Marina del Rey community, said businessmen Michael Waldman and Burt Alexander.
Waldman, president of the boutique real estate trust brokerage firm NXT Equities, Inc., said that the Station 110 firefighters play a “critical role in preserving our sense of security and their role is fundamental to our community.”
Waldman and Alexander attributed the event’s success to the collaborative efforts of tournament participants, Marina City Club residents and Maritime Communications.
