Having exhausted all of their leads, Santa Monica police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing Santa Monica woman who left her home July 2nd and has not returned.
Police joined family members of 52-year-old Alicia Serrano Medina in Santa Monica City Council Chambers Tuesday, September 18th, to ask the public to help them locate the missing woman.
Medina left her Santa Monica home in the 700 block of Marine Street in Santa Monica without taking any personal possessions or identification, police said. Her whereabouts are unknown.
She is described as five-foot-one, 150 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.
Santa Monica police Lt. Alex Padilla said officers have posted a picture of Medina in the hope that someone will recognize her and notify police.
“We’re hoping that someone will recognize her and call us so that she can be located and reunited with her family,” Padilla said.
Medina has been known to frequent the Culver City and Venice areas, Padilla said. Police have gone to the communities and handed out flyers, but they have not received any leads, he said.
In a police alert issued last month, police said Medina may have been traveling with a 34-year-old male companion. Police have since spoken with the man, who did not have any information on Medina’s whereabouts, Padilla said.
Foul play is not suspected in her disappearance.
Anyone with additional information is asked to call Santa Monica Police Department detectives at (310) 458-8978 or (310) 458-8451.
