Los Angeles police are seeking suspects wanted in connection with the shooting of a 29-year-old man who was found dead in a stolen car in Del Rey early Feb. 4.
Officers were called at about 7 a.m. to the 5500 block of Margaret Avenue, near Jefferson Boulevard in Del Rey, where they found Michael John Baldwin of Los Angeles slumped over the wheel of a Lexus with a gunshot wound to the head, police said. Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics responded and pronounced Baldwin dead at the scene, police said.
The vehicle, which was double-parked with its engine running, was reported stolen out of West Los Angeles about two weeks prior to the shooting, LAPD Pacific Det. Mark Morgan said.
It appears the shooter approached the vehicle on foot and fled in an unknown direction, Morgan said. The shooting does not appear to be gang related and there is currently no suspect information available, police said.
During the course of the investigation, an unrelated arrest was made for felony evading, police said. The investigation is currently ongoing.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to contact LAPD Pacific Area homicide detectives at (310) 482-6372, or (877) 527-3247 during non-business hours and on weekends.
