Los Angeles police are searching for a suspect wanted in connection with the shooting of a man on the Venice Beach Boardwalk Easter Sunday, April 12th.
Police said the victim was on Ocean Front Walk, near Breeze Avenue in Venice at about 7:30 p.m., when the male suspect approached him on foot.
After the two men apparently got into ìsome kind of dispute,î the suspect allegedly shot the victim in the neck and fled on foot northbound on the Boardwalk, said Detective Mark Morgan of the Los Angeles Police Department Pacific division.
The 34-year-old victim was transported to a local hospital, where he is in serious but stable condition, Morgan said. No other injuries were reported.
Morgan noted that there were many people in the area due to the holiday and a drum circle performance was also taking place at the time. Police are interviewing witnesses but have not yet determined a possible motive for the shooting.
The suspect is described as a man of unknown age with dark skin, approximately six feet tall, weighing 200 pounds and wearing a hooded sweatshirt and jeans, police said.
